Collection of five antique hymn books, 1702-1902
Including three tooled leather-bound Martin Luther bibles in German, dated 1712, 1718 and 1837; a German hymn book dated 1702 with tortoiseshell cover with silver clasps (from the collection of the Library of the Carnegie Museum, PA); and a Hungarian prayer and hymn book with tooled leather cover, dated 1902.
Largest (Hungarian hymn book): 10" H x 8" W x 2" D
All are in good antique condition with heavy wear throughout. All clasps are broken or missing elements except for the tortoiseshell example. Tortoiseshell cover has a stable crack running horizontally in the lower half and silver with heavy tarnish.
